Greece is the word ... It's got a groove, it's got a meaning!

Greece is the time, is the place, is the motion, Greece is the way we are feeling ...

I do love the Bee Gees! Who knew they enjoyed that idyllic part of the world so much~ but today's fashion and fluffballs illustration is a fine example as to why! With scenery like this, I'm not sure why locals feel the need for quite so much plate smashing, but let's call it joyful and not ask why!

Today we're strolling with dear Wilma, a rescue dog who landed on her paws well and truly when her parents Petrea and J found her awaiting a new furever home a little while ago now. Wilma is highly talented and even has her own blog. One of her humans is an entertainer and author and I think some of that's rubbed off onto her! Scooting around Paris on a scooter is easy. Doing it while patting a purring feline and wearing a gown large enough to merit its own arrondissement? Not so much. Not in the real world, that is.

But Chez Shell, practicality is a dirty word ~ or mildly grimy around the hemline at least ~ and we can't have that, can we.

So come, let us hoist up our ruffles, don long satin gloves to double our degree of difficulty, and see if we can eat macarons at the same time. On y va! And on that note ...

In today's illustration, this sweet cat and tiny Yorkie are a squirmy armful of mischief waiting to happen. Lucky for us, we've not yet cracked open that bottle of champagne, so we still have our wits about us. In half an hour's time, we might not be so lucky. And on that note ...

Some people wear their heart on their sleeve. I figure, "Why stop there?"

I don't know about you, but by the time spring arrives, I'm totally 'over' my winter hibernation jeans and longing to escape into the breeziness of long, flowy dresses at every possible opportunity! Today's fashion and fluffballs illustration includes one such example I'd love to materialise into my wardrobe, along with a totes adorable kitty cat {as expected ... so predictable!} Our setting is a European back street somewhere ... sufficiently vague in detail to allow your mind to wander wherever your armchair travels fancy. If I was hazarding a guess, I'd say there's a hint of salted island air - but maybe I'm mistaking it for salted caramel fare.

So come, let us bask and chat and stroll with legs bare. And find a platter of local delicacies to share! And on that note ...

It's been too long ~ hello, Venice!

The grand tradition of fashion photoshoot theatre should not be reserved for photography. Equal rights for illustration, I say, when it comes to scandalously crazy treatment of gowns that probably cost more than a small crumbling palazzo to buy!

But thanks to the magic of drawing, no silk taffeta confections were harmed in the making of today's flight of fancy. No, we can steep that hem with its thousands of fairy handstitches in the Grand Canal - or even a piccolo one - and break not one single luminescent bead of anxious sweat over its possible demise.

So come, dangle your feet with mine if your derring shall do, and possibly even sit a while. And on that note ...
